Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition is a statewide, immigrant and refugee-led collaboration whose mission is to empower immigrants and refugees throughout Tennessee to develop a unified voice, defend their rights, and create an atmosphere in which they are viewed as positive contributors to the state. Asociacion Latina utililzes and the full spectrum of resources offered by TIRRC.
National Network for Immigrants and Refugee Rights is a national organization composed of local coalitions and immigrant, refugee, community, religious, civil rights and labor organizations and activists. It serves as a forum to share information and analysis, to educate communities and the general public, and to develop and coordinate plans of action on important immigrant and refugee issues.
APSU Hispanic Cultural Center develops, promotesand increases awareness of Hispanic Cultures through the implementation of cultural enrichment programs, the building of working relationships between the student clubs and organizations and the Hispanic Community and the creationof an environment in which the Spanish language can be celebrated and practiced.
Center forNon-Profit Management serves as a catalyst to improve the skills of nonprofit leaders by providing a full set of training, consulting and evaluation programs that meet the education and management needs of the growing nonprofit community of Middle Tennessee. As a member of CNM, Asociacion Latina takes advantage its rich fund of professional training and consulting.
Clarksville Montgomery County Adult Literacy County provides free one-on-one instruction for adults who want to learn to read or improve their reading skills in the Clarksville-Montgomery County-Ft. Campbell area. In partnership with CMCALC, Asociacion Latina offers English as a Second Language courses every Sunday at 3:00 in the Goodwill Store on Fort Campbell Blvd.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance VITA is a volunteer based, free tax preparation service for lower income families. In addition to the free tax preparation service, VITA emphasizes the importance of asset building and finance management to its clients. They are also launching an initiative to urge more families to file for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) with the hope that those families will use this money to build more assets. Asociacion Latina partners with United Way of Clarksville in offering translation for individuals and families in the Latina community that want to take advantage of this valuable opportunity.
